April Fool’s Day is quite an apposite release date for Quentin Dupieux’s killer-tire flick RUBBER, after-all, is the flick one long inside joke or a true genre effort not to be reckoned with? While I’m leaning towards the former, the next few months will certainly tell…

Also available via VOD on February 25th, Apple has just debuted a new trailer for RUBBER, which you can find below. I get the feeling the film will be durable for about 15-20 minutes, then, like a bad SNL flick, will get really old and really, um…tired…pretty f*ckin’ fast. Hopefully I’m proved wrong!

RUBBER is the story of Robert, an inanimate tire that has been abandoned in the desert, and suddenly and inexplicably comes to life. As Robert roams the bleak landscape, he discovers that he possesses terrifying telepathic powers that give him the ability to destroy anything he wishes without having to move. At first content to prey on small desert creatures and various discarded objects, his attention soon turns to humans, especially a beautiful and mysterious woman who crosses his path.
