New trailer for The Bourne Legacy with Jeremy Renner will kick your ass around the world

The new trailer for THE BOURNE LEGACY, starring Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz, Joan Allen, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn, Albert Finney, Oscar Isaac, and Stacy Keach has arrived, bringing you all the hard-hitting espionage action you’ve come to expect from the Bourne series.

Directed by Tony Gilroy (MICHAEL CLAYTON) the screenwriter of the first three films in the series, the film looks to be more of a direct sequel sans the original star than a reboot.

Check it out:

I think this looks pretty kick ass, although I find the constant references to Jason Bourne distracting, mostly because I’d just rather see Matt Damon back in the role.  I have no problem at all with Renner, it just seems a little odd not having the title character in a film with his name in it.  The Bourne series was the best thing Damon had going.  I get that sometimes you just want to move on, but it’s still a bit of a shame.  Hopefully, Renner can make this his own and establish himself for a new series of films.

THE BOURNE LEGACY hits theaters on August 3, 2012.
