New Yogi Bear trailer is online. Does that make you happy?

If the first trailer for the live-action/CG-animated family film YOGI BEAR didn’t get your motor running, then this new one… probably won’t either.

But here’s something that’s kind of irked me – If you’re going to defend the obvious awfulness of something like YOGI BEAR with “well, it’s for kids” then please, please, please do not ever speak to me. There are dozens upon dozens of examples of “kids” films that are neither lazy cash grabs nor compromises of quality filmmaking (easy example: Pixar). Defend those films, we need more of them. Not shit like this. I mean, geez, they even gave us a poster that has Boo-Boo (Justin Timberlake) looking like he’s ready and eager to get plugged by Yogi (Dan Aykroyd)! F*ck this.

YOGI BEAR opens on December 17th.

Synopsis: Jellystone Park has been losing business, so greedy Mayor Brown decides to shut it down and sell the land. That means families will no longer be able to experience the natural beauty of the outdoors — and, even worse, Yogi and Boo Boo will be tossed out of the only home they’ve ever known. Faced with his biggest challenge ever, Yogi must prove that he really is “smarter than the average bear” as he and Boo Boo join forces with their old nemesis Ranger Smith to find a way to save Jellystone Park from closing forever.
