Nick and Amy meet in the first clip from David Fincher’s Gone Girl

JoBloJoBlo

As we near the one week mark before the theatrical release of David Fincher‘s GONE GIRL, the clips are beginning to roll in. Already a hugely anticipated film from the standpoint of film fans and those who read the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn, GONE GIRL is already looking to be a massive success regardless of the quality of the film. The great thing is David Fincher rarely slacks on the quality of his films.

This first clip from GONE GIRL gives us a glimpse of Nick and Amy Dunne (Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike) when they first meet at a party. The playful banter between the two is clearly evident as is the well written dialogue from Flynn, who also wrote the screenplay. Everything here is trademark Fincher form the muted, dark colors to the camera placement and the somber musical score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. All together, this thirty second clip is enough to make anyone excited for this movie.

There is also a new TV spot that builds the tension from later in the film as the implications of Amy’s disappearance wreak havoc in the lives and community of all those involved. GONE GIRL is a book I avoided reading once I learned Fincher was making the movie, but I am finding it difficult to stay away much longer.

GONE GIRL opens on October 3rd.
