Nick Offerman to help develop supernatural drama Lincoln in the Bardo

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

So this is some surprising news. Hot off the heels of producing and starring in the comedy INFINITY BABY (which premiered at SXSW), married comedy couple Nick Offerman (Ron Swanson on PARKS AND RECREATION) and Megan Mullally (Tammy #2 on the same show) are producing another film together. This one, however, doesn't seem to be a comedy. They recently gained the rights to the best-selling novel LINCOLN IN THE BARDO, and here's the official synopsis, according to Deadline:

Set against the backdrop of the Civil War [the story] centers on Abraham Lincoln’s grief over the death of his 11-year-old son Willie, with much of the action taking place in the graveyard where Willie and other unsettled spirits languish in the “bardo,” a Buddhist term for the transitory state between lives.

That actually sounds interesting! No word yet if the two will star or not, but the idea of Offerman as Lincoln would definitely be interesting (if not necessarily good).

So what do you Schmoes think? You down for a weird, dramatic, supernatural adventure starring Honest Abe? Sound off below!
