The Yari Film Group’s distribution division has been forced into involuntary bankruptcy. The distribution of WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH will go ahead but the immediate impact of this development is unclear. This is the studio behind CRASH and THE MATADOR. It is also responsible for Joe Carnahan’s KILLING PABLO which, thank god, is still expected to go ahead but who knows where this might go.
This is a devestating blow to cinephiles and human beings alike as the Yari Group is also responsible for what is widely expected to be the biggest movie of next year; THE GOVERNESS with Jennifer Lopez. When reached for a comment, a passerby who had just been informed he might not ever get to see the movie dropped to his knees and admonished the heavens screaming “make the madness stop!” Another ran away screaming.
