Two days ago we we’re lucky enough to peep a hilarious new clip from RUBBER, Quentin Dupieux’s feature about a telekinetically homicidal car-tire. Looks like we’ve struck the Lotto then, ’cause Magnet Releasing just issued another snippet from the joint. And really, there’s “No Reason” for you to not check it out…
In case your late to this awesome absurdity, RUBBER is a solemn 85 minute movie about a tire that kills people using its mind. It got picked up after what must have been a successful screening at Cannes last month, and will get a wider French release later this fall. No word when us yanks’ll get a chance to have a little fun with the thing, but let’s knock on wood for it to be sometime soon.
In the clip below, titled “No Reason,” watch a pretty amusing exchange between a little boy, a hotel owner and a sheriff, as the former tries to convince the other two a dormant tire at the bottom of a pool is actually a deranged murderer. Worth a look to get a feel for the humorous tone the flick will no doubt engender.
Thomas F. Duffy, Hayley Homes, Wings Hauser, Roxane Mesquida (below), Tara Jean O’Brien, Haley Ramm, David Bowe, Ethan Cohn, Pete Dicecco and Remy Thorne all take part in the film.

Thomas F. Duffy’s CANDIDATE co-star Mariela I’V deserves 2 pics!
