NOES doc coming soon

Seems as though we’ve got another documentary about a horror movie icon coming at us right before he’s set to emerge from the dead and get rebooted. First it was the decent (but not great) doc HIS NAME WAS JASON, and now comes NEVER SLEEP AGAIN: THE ELM STREET LEGACY. If you couldn’t guess, it’s about one Freddy Krueger. One must assume that it will span the entire Freddy filmography.

The project comes from the team behind HIS NAME WAS JASON, Daniel Farrands and Andrew Kasch (who also works over at Dread Central). It will be narrated by “Nancy” herself, Heather Langenkamp, and apparently feature four hours of extras, including an original documentary written and directed by Langenkamp. Production began last month, and while no interviews have been mentioned, it’s safe to say that there are many people to choose from, starting with Wes Craven, and hopefully including the likes of Frank Darabont, Renny Harlin, Stephen Hopkins, and Brian Helgeland – all of whom were employed the series at one point or another. (It might be too much to hope for a Johnny Depp appearance.)

NEVER SLEEP AGAIN will be released in 2010, most likely before the APRIL 30th debut of the ELM STREET remake; for more, hit up the official site (you’ll have to wait until Friday the 18th for more, however).
