Jennifer Lawrence now defends Aronofsky’s mother!

Truth be told, I didn't make my way out to my local cinema this past weekend to check out Darren Aronofsky's new horror-thriller mother! myself, but a trusted buddy of mine did and he said he walked out of the flick. On date night. His wife confirmed this.

While I still plan to see the film asap and make up my own damn mind about it, the backlash from the film's F Cinemascore rating has been hitting a bit of a fever pitch as it was only yesterday we brought you the news of Paramount defending the film.

In keeping with that central tone, today we bring you the news that now the film's star, Jennifer Lawrence has taken up arms and defended the film to the peeps over at EW. Check it out:

Jennifer Lawrence on mother!

The people who love it love it and want to see it another time. The people who don’t like, absolutely despise it. There is no middle ground. We knew that it was divided. She then continues:

It was the most unique sounding movie I’d ever heard, and incredibly brave. I feel like there’s different schools of thought on this movie. Some think: don’t tell anyone anything, let them figure it out on their own. I feel like it’s better to know and understand the metaphor and allegories because then you know what you are looking at. I’ve been spilling the themes and metaphors all over town!
