We heard last week that Ice Cube had been talking with BOYZ IN THE HOOD director John Singleton about reuniting for an NWA biopic, of which Mr. Cube is a former member.

But today Vulture says the project might be moving forward without Singleton, and that three other names are being considered. That would be HUSTLE AND FLOW’s Craig Brewer, FRIDAY’s F. Gary Gray and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHT’s Peter Berg. Hmm, which one of these things is not like the other?

Why not Singleton? The article doesn’t say, but Gray would still be reuniting Ice Cube with a director he knows, though it’s said to be Brewer that’s expressed the strongest interest.

Out of these options, who do you think would be the best fit to tell the story of the rap group?
