Ocean’s Eleven vet Carl Reiner to make a cameo in Ocean’s Eight

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Gary Ross' OCEAN'S EIGHT, a spin-off of Steven Soderbergh's OCEAN'S ELEVEN franchise, already boasts a quite impressive cast, but as we know, it's the law for a spin-off to include at least one or more cameo appearance from members of the main franchise. Break that rule, and if it's off to the Phantom Zone with you. It has already been revealed that Matt Damon will be reprising his role of Linus Caldwell in the film, and now Carl Reiner has said that he will also be making an appearance.

While speaking with Vanity Fair about his new HBO documentary, If You’re Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast, the 95-year-old actor spilled the beans that he'll be sharing a scene with Sandra Bullock in OCEAN'S EIGHT.

Yeah, Ocean’s Eight, I think they’re calling it. And I got to work with my favorite actress, Sandra Bullock. I did one little scene with her, and it was such a pleasure. She’s a work of nature.

Saul Bloom, Carl Reiner's character in the OCEAN'S franchise, is an old pro who specializes in impersonation and disguise. Reiner may not have had the biggest part in the Steven Soderbergh movies, but his presence was always a highlight. OCEAN'S EIGHT stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Damian Lewis, Richard Armitage, and James Corden. The spin-off is said to follow Danny Ocean's estranged sister Debbie (Bullock) as she assembles the perfect crew and attempts to pull off the heist of the century at New York City’s star-studded annual Met Gala

OCEAN'S EIGHT will hit theaters on June 8, 2018.
