Boy, Stephen Sommers is arming his adaptation of Dean Koontz’s ODD THOMAS to the goddamn fangs!
In the last week or so, we’ve learned Tim Robbins, Addison Timlin (below), Willem Dafoe and Nico Tortorella have all been targeted to play in the supernatural thriller. And now ladies and gents, another name has been thrown into the fray…
Variety reports that Patton Oswalt is the latest to join the ODD THOMAS cast. Word is Patton will play a comedian named Oswald “Ozzie” P. Boone, an artist and sculptor who made a steel pendant that the title character (Anton Yelchin) wears around his neck. Not sure if Patton had to read for the part or if producers lazily thought, hey…his name is Oswalt and he’s a comedian…what else do we need. I will say Patton’s work in BIG FAN is good enough to deserve more serious acting opportunities. What says you?
ODD THOMAS, which goes into production in New Mexico next month, is set in a California desert town, story follows Thomas (Yelchin), a short-order cook with clairvoyant abilities who encounters a mysterious man with a link to dark, threatening forces.
ODD THOMAS comes to the masses sometime next year.
