Not sure why J Blakeson’s THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED hasn’t gotten a ton of run ’round these parts. I think it’s because it’s one of those genre flicks straddling the fence of AITH warranty: not really an out and out horror joint, not quite a horrific enough thriller. But at the end of the day, the shite’s a pretty cool looking kidnap thriller that not only stars the lovely Gemma Arterton…the shite’s culling almost unanimous good word of mouth in its native U.K. Take a look at the official trailer and various posters for the flick underneath!
Also starring Martin Compston and Eddie Marsan, the flick finds:
Two men fortify a nondescript British apartment so it can serve as a prison, and then kidnap a woman and tie her to a bed. Before there’s even time to react, we’re plunged into a very nasty situation, but not a simple one.
Currently in some U.K. theaters, THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED will screen in limited U.S. theaters starting August 6th.
