Oldboy screenwriter working on a new horror project with Edgar Wright?

OLDBOY is set to hit theaters tomorrow and screenwriter Mark Protosevich (seen right), who also wrote 2000's THE CELL and 2007's I AM LEGEND, has been making the press rounds talking up the latest Spike Lee joint and in a recent interview with AICN dropped some intriguing hints on something he's got brewing with THE WORLD'S END and SHAUN OF THE DEAD director Edgar Wright that should excite fans of our genre.

Protosevich has been working with Wright on an ultra-secretive project but when pressed about what he could share about it, replies with "Zilch." Now that wouldn't make for much of an article, would it? Of course not! So yes, we have more to add…

The OLDBOY screenwriter then goes on to add a teeny-tiny nugget of info that excites me, sharing….

The one thing I'll say is that Edgar's movies have a certain tone, and this one might be a little unexpected because the main thing we're going for is scary. Smart and scary.

Scary? YES! Sounds as if they're working on something within the horror genre, and a traight-up, non-jokey horror film from Mark Protosevich and Edgar Wright is something fans would very much want to see. I'm certainly down! You?

Granted, Wright still has ANT-MAN on his slate, so it could be quite some time until we hear any news on what he and Protosevich have cooking, but we'll stay on top of it and bring you any news we hear regarding this project!
