Oh the drama of vying Hollywood starlets…
Sounds like 20th Century Fox and Ridley Scott are very close to casting a younger Ripley-type character in the two-part ALIEN prequel, and even though the super hot (both physically and professionally) Olivia Wilde (below) met with both sides this week to discuss the role, word is Scott still has a keen eye on original dragon tattoo girl Noomi Rapace (right). The only hang-up? Homegirl’s accent!
Well, not entirely. Although Rapace’s Swedish twang is a concern, the real issue may be her involvement in SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 and the scheduling therein. As a result, Fox may have a bigger hand in the decision than thought prior. Never a good sign!
Other names bandied about recently have been Natalie Portman, Carey Mulligan, Gemma Arterton and Abbie Cornish. If Scott can’t have his choice of Rapace outright, let’s help the studio decide.
Who do you think should play the female lead in the ALIEN prequel?
