Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling adds KiKi Layne and Gemma Chan

Just a few months ago, it was reported that THE PEANUT BUTTER FALCON co-stars Shia LaBeouf and Dakota Johnson would be reuniting on director Olivia Wilde's psychological thriller DON'T WORRY, DARLING. But as it turns out, neither of them are going to be in the movie. LaBeouf and Johnson have both run into scheduling issues and had to drop out of the project. We learned last month that Harry Styles will be taking over the role that LaBeouf had originally been signed on to play, and now we know who will be replacing Johnson as well.

KiKi Layne, who recently co-starred in the Netflix action movie THE OLD GUARD, has signed on to play the part that was going to be Johnson's.

Deadline reports that Gemma Chan of CRAZY RICH ASIANS, CAPTAIN MARVEL, and the TV show Humans is joining the cast as well.

Originally written by Shane and Carey Van Dyke, then rewritten by Katie Silberman, DON'T WORRY, DARLING is set "in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert". The story centers on

a housewife whose reality begins to crack, revealing a disturbing truth underneath.

That's all we know about the plot so far.

Florence Pugh and Chris Pine star in the film, and Wilde as also reserved a "key supporting role" for herself.

Wilde and Silberman are producing DON'T WORRY, DARLING with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment. Catherine Hardwicke serves as executive producer alongside the Van Dykes. Richard Brener, Daria Cercek, and Celia Khong are overseeing the project for New Line Cinema.
