This year has been all about renewals in my personal life,
but more importantly, in my professional life as well, as we’ve literally
taken all sections of the JOBLO MOVIE NETWORK and given them an
upgrade!
Earlier this year, we turned our dinky little movie
posters section into the PIMPIN’ POSTER PALACE replete with over
13,000 movies posters from 1980-2011. A month after that, we rebooted MOVIE
FAN CENTRAL, adding tons of cool functionalities to our movie
community that now boasts over 62,000 members. And just last month, we
re-launched our very popular MOVIEHOTTIES, making it more pleasing
to the eye (if that were even possible) and given it that more polished
look and feel.
Today, we re-launch our DVD CLINIC as THE
DIGITAL DORM!! The site remains mostly the same, although we’ve
obviously updated its name, since DVDs will become obsolete in the coming
years, and we’ve also added a couple of new sections called CONTESTS
and BEST SELLING ITEMS (specifically the titles that visitors are
buying via JoBlo.com every month), as well as wider articles, longer headlines
and a brand spankin’ new right-hand column that allows you to keep track
of the latest updates on the site, at all times.
The site’s focus will remain on DVD & BLU-RAY releases
including new covers, specs and release dates, but we’re also going to be
reporting on cool tech news including slick gadgets, videogame previews,
home theater advancements and other such items. If you want us to start

THE DIGITAL DORM will
boast 5 weekly scheduled columns, as well as GAME ON, BITCHES, which
focuses on videogame reviews. Here’s the lowdown:

We’ve also got a new email address to which you can send
us all of the latest scoops and if you’re like many other movie fanatics
and want to keep track of your
DVD/BLU-RAY collection, don’t forget that
you can utilize your own MOVIE FAN CENTRAL account to upload your
collection, but with this latest update, you can now use our very popular RELEASE DATES section
to
choose upcoming releases to place on your WISH LIST (this is explained in
more detail HERE).
You can also COMMENT under our DVD/Blu-Ray reviews
now, of which we now have 2,678 reviews and counting. Our
most prolific DVD reviewers are: Jason Adams (361), Sturdy (344), Quigles
(289), The Shootin’ Surgeon (263) and Mathew Plale (247).
Overall, we’re hoping that THE DIGITAL DORM will become
yet another popular section of the JOBLO MOVIE NETWORK alongside our
centerpiece JoBlo’s Movie
Emporium, our horror website Arrow
in the Head, our focus on hot girls MovieHotties
and our movie community Movie
Fan Central. Oops, I almost forgot that we’re also going to be
re-launching our JOBLO VIDEO section in a few weeks (and launching
a new JOBLO MOBILE initiative), but that conversation will be
