Avast, me hearties! Our Flag Means Death, the upcoming pirate comedy from the twisted mind of Taika Waititi, just gained two new crew members in Leslie Jones (Coming 2 America, Ghostbusters) and Nat Faxon (Father of the Year, Friends From College). Both will set sail in the series as recurring guest stars.

They join Rhys Darby and Waititi, who star alongside an ensemble cast that includes Kristian Nairn, Nathan Foad, Samson Kayo, Rory Kinnear, Con O’Neill, Vico Ortiz, Ewen Bremner, David Fane, Joel Fry, Guz Khan, and Matt Maher.

Darby plays Stede Bonnet, a pampered aristocrat who abandoned his life of privilege to become a pirate, while Waititi will play Blackbeard, history’s most feared and revered pirate.

Waititi co-created the series alongside David Jenkins, who also serves as showrunner. Little is known about the plot so far other than the fact that the series stars some of the funniest people currently working in Hollywood. If I had to venture a guess, Our Flag Means Death will find Darby's Bonnet adjusting to life as a pirate and stumbling along the way. Will Blackbeard make him walk the plank? Will he be placed inside a Boo Box? There's no telling what manner of hilarity awaits on the high seas when Our Flag Means Death eventually sets sail for HBO Max.
