Paramount’s CinemaCon panel included a new Scary Movie trailer and Top Gun 3 confirmation

The Paramount panel is currently underway at the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas – and the first thing Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison did when he took the stage was assure everyone in attendance that when his company merges with Warner Bros., they will deliver a minimum of 30 movies per year. These films will have a mandatory 45 day theatrical window, reaching SVOD in 90 days, which would be the longest window of any studio. Then, the presentation of upcoming Paramount projects began. Here are some of the highlights:

Top Gun 3 officially happening!

Ellison confirmed that another Top Gun sequel is officially happening. The script is being written, Tom Cruise is attached to star in the film, and Jerry Bruckheimer will produce.

Call of Duty release date announced

There’s no cast attached yet, but the recently announced Call of Duty movie is set for a June 30, 2028 release.

New Scary Movie trailer

JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray was in attendance and reports that Marlon and Shawn Wayans were there with Anna Faris. They promise they are equal opportunity offenders. Among the people they apologize to in advance, “white people, black people, Mexicans, Diddy…” The new trailer was great. Cheri Oteri’s character takes the Substance. Marlon sinks into the chair like in Get Out but likes it because it makes him high. The spoof of Weapons is really funny. Kids steal Marlon’s stash thinking it’s candy and at 2:17am they go nuts.

New Jackass: Best and Last trailer

Bumbray reports, Johnny Knoxville says it’s definitely the last Jackass movie. We saw the trailer and it looks crazy. They have an AI robot punching them in the nuts. They also do the world’s first robot prostate exam – with a claw!

Heart of the Beast preview

Directed by David Ayer and starring Brad Pitt. Pitt is a former Special Forces soldier living in Alaska with his former combat dog, who was titanium teeth. Their plane crashes and they have to survive the wilderness. Looks like a badass version of that Far from Home movie from the 90s. Looks super action packed, but lots of dog in jeopardy moments. Pitt looks badass.

K-Pop Superstar: The Movie

All shot in South Korea with the cooperation of the industry, this movie is about a Korean-American girl who competes on KPop Superstar. Comes out Valentine’s Day and KPop is all the rage, so it might do really well. It was clearly made for the American audience that loved KPop Demon Hunters to introduce them to the genre

Children of Blood and Bone

Gina Prince-Bythewood’s follow up to The Woman King. It has similar vibes to that film, but a heightened fantasy version. Chiwetel Ejiofor is a despotic king and Regina King is his evil queen. Damson Idris seems to be their son, who is torn and has a relationship with the female protagonist – who has magic abilities. Ejiofor is trying to keep magic from getting a foothold in the kingdom. Could be a hit; the book is huge.
