Part of the appeal of last year’s hit indie flick PARANORMAL ACTIVITY was the fact it featured real people, not movie stars, in its principal leads. Why then, after flipping 5K into more than $100 million, would you diss one of the primary players in making your film such a success when it comes time for an inevitable sequel? Why the hell does Katie Featherston (shown right, below) have to wonder if her character will return or not…a mere 5 months before the film is set to hit theaters?
Could it be a change in directors (From Oren Peli to Kip Williams)? Did her character die in the first flick?
Here’s what Featherston had to say in a recent touchdown with MTV:
“I don’t know. I’m waiting to hear. If they had a way to put me in there in a way that would be reasonable and make sense – I don’t know how they’d do that – I’d definitely be down for it. If I get that phone call, I will be there. I will be scared or happy or whatever they want me to be.”
Featherston also admitted that the script is still being ironed out by Michael R. Perry. A release date less than five months away and still no completed script? Maybe the casting of Featherston shouldn’t be the most pressing issue at this juncture. Still, she remains optimistic:
“I’m excited and I can’t wait to see what the team does with it and I soon as I know, I’ll tell everyone,” she added. “I’m not one to keep my mouth shut.”
But let’s hear it from y’all. You wanna see Featherston make a return? You in favor of bringing in new blood? Indifferent either way? What you got?
