From THE BAY to “The River”? This Oren Peli fella’s a busy cat!

Yesterday Mr. Walkuski let you know about a project Peli and his fellow PARANORMAL ACTIVITY producers are ushering a Berry Levinson picture called THE BAY (ISOPOD, formerly), a zombie outing set on the Eastern Seaboard. Looks like Peli’s diggin’ the whole water thing…

Word out of Deadline tonight has Peli close to deal with ABC to bring them “The River,” a cinema verite style thriller set on a mysterious river. Word is the film will be cut from the same cloth of P.A., the micro-budgeted indie-hit that catapulted Peli into being a major Hollywood player.

“The River,” which has garnered interest from NBC as well, is most likely to land at ABC because of an alluring pilot package. Michael R. Perry, who spawned the idea with Peli, is also responsible for penning PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2. He’ll write the pilot script for “The River,” possibly for Peli to direct himself.

But when all’s said and done…which project you think you can get onboard with, THE BAY or “The River”?
