Aside from Lars Von Trier’s supposed soul-crushing new film ANTICHRIST, the other indie-horror flick with a skyrocketing profile I’m super-down to see is Oren Peli’s micro-budgeted spook-flick PARANORMAL ACTIVITY.
Produced for a paltry $11,000, shot in the man’s own real life home with a cast of virtual unknowns – Peli’s feature debut has been making viewers shit their pants in festivals and viewing-circuits since it was assembled back in 2007. And since Paramount nabbed the rights to the film after a successfully terrifying screening at the Telluride Film Festival, we now have an official website, one-sheet (above) and a cool new trailer for the film.
The story is a simple, highly effective one. A suburban couple becomes increasingly haunted by a clutch of strange phenomena in their new home. Is it real? A hoax? Just another BLAIR WITCH conceit? We’ll have to see it to learn. In the mean time, scope out the new trailer underneath!
