Party Down: Revival of the comedy series releases a teaser trailer

Fans of the comedy, Party Down, rejoice as the revival has just released a teaser trailer. The date for the return of the all-star ensemble has been set, and it’s coming sooner than you think. Party Down will be making its triumphant comeback on the premium movie network Starz on February 24. The late-night show will stream on the channel’s app and other streaming platforms at midnight. Then the show will air on the Starz channel later that night at 9 PM ET.

Deadline has the exclusive teaser trailer on their site and reports that the cult show was given a third season at Starz after lengthy negotiations went down with the comedy series cast. Returning for the revival will be Adam Scott, Jane Lynch, Ken Marino, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen, and Megan Mullally. However, the only original cast member whose schedule wasn’t accommodated was Lizzy Caplan. Although, earlier, it had been announced that new cast members would be joining for this season. The new additions include Jennifer Garner, Tyrel Jackson Williams, and Zoë Chao. Also, James Marsden is set to recur as a guest star.

Check out the trailer here.

The synopsis for the show’s revival reads, “10 years later, most of the Party Down catering team have moved on, including actor/bartender Henry Pollard (Scott). After a surprise reunion, the gang find themselves once again stoically enduring the procession of random parties and oddball guests all over Los Angeles.”

The initial run of the cult hit comedy debuted on Starz in 2009 with the ensemble Scott, Caplan, Marino, Lynch, Starr, and Hansen starring. Although, Lynch would then leave after the first eight episodes of the 10-episode first season in order to do Glee on Fox. Jennifer Coolidge came in to round out the cast for the last two episodes. Then, season two saw the addition of Megan Mullally as a regular member of the cast and Lynch would return to make an appearance in the season finale. Both seasons are available on the Starz app and streaming sites.

The former executive producers will also be returning and includes Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars), John Enbom (iZombie), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Dan Etheridge (Veronica Mars) and Scott (Severance). Enbom also serves as showrunner. Party Down is produced for STARZ by Lionsgate Television.
