Party on, dudes! First look pics for Bill & Ted Face the Music have arrived!

A most triumphant batch of First Look pics for BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC have arrived online! In the photos, we're given our inaugural look at the San Dimas slackers, Bill S. Preston Esq (Alex Winter) and Ted "Theodore" Logan (Keanu Reeves) as they are all grown up and ready for another time-traveling adventure. Also pictured is William Sadler as the Grim Reaper, who by the looks of it is waiting for both Bill and Ted to make what I can only assume is a grave decision about the next steps of their journey. Last but not least, we find Samara Weaving (THE BABYSITTER, READY OR NOT) as Bill's offspring, Thea, as well as Bridgette Lundy-Paine's (ATYPICAL) Billie, Ted's daughter.

Here's the official plot synopsis for BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC:

When we last met Bill and Ted they were time-traveling teenagers trying to pass history class and win the battle of the bands. Once prophesized to save the universe with their rock and roll, middle age and the responsibilities of family have caught up with these two best friends who have not yet fulfilled their destiny. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever written. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns our heroes that only their song can save life as we know it. Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on a time travel adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it. Together with the aid of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures, and some sympathetic music legends, Bill and Ted find much, much more than just a song.

In talking about the film to Entertainment Weekly, screenwriter Chris Matheson explains that Bill and Ted are given a brief window with which to complete their mission to bring peace throughout all of time and space.

“They were told when they were teenagers that they were going to save reality, and they’ve been working on it the whole time,” says Matheson. “Now an emissary from the future comes and says, ‘You’ve got to do it right now. We’ve got literally 80 minutes or all of reality will come to an end.’”

The third film in the Bill & Ted franchise stars Keanu Reeves as Ted “Theodore” Logan and Alex Winter as Bill S. Preston Esq. Joining them for another out-of-time adventure are Samara Weaving as Bill's daughter, Thea Preston; Brigette Lundy-Paine as Billie Logan; William Sadler as Death; Jayma Mays as Princess Joanna; Erinn Taylor as Princess Elizabeth; Amy Stoch as Missy; Kristen Schall as Kelly; and Holland Taylor as The Great Leader.

Other franchise newcomers include Beck Bennett (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE), who portrays Ted's younger brother, Deacon, and muscian-actor Kid Cudi, who plays himself in the highly-anticipated sequel.

“He plays Kid Cudi,” says director Dean Parisot. “He gets mysteriously thrown around through various times, because all time and space is coming unglued.” Also while speaking with EW, Parisot reveals that William Sadler's Death could have an axe to grind with his former band members. “Death was in the band in the second film,” says Parisot. “Things didn’t go all that well. But I’ll leave it at that!”

Dean Parisot (RED 2, GALAXY QUEST) is directing the film from a screenplay by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson. The long-awaited adventure serves as a follow up to 1989's BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE and 1991's BILL & TED'S BOGUS JOURNEY. Fans of the bodacious time-traveling duo have been waiting for close to three decades for the Wyld Stallyns to return to the big screen, and now the time has finally come for the pair to make their most triumphant return.

BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC will dial into theaters on August 21, 2020.
