Strong-jawed actor Jason Patric and current teenage John Connor Thomas Dekker have joined Cameron Diaz, Abigail Breslin, Alec Baldwin, Joan Cusack and Sofia Vassilieva in the drama MY SISTER’S KEEPER. Based on Jodi Picoult’s novel, the Nick Cassavetes film centers on a married couple (Patric and Diaz) who are sued for emancipation by their daughter (Breslin). After several operations to help save her ailing older sister (Vassilieva), the daughter is consumed by the idea that she was only conceived to keep her older sister alive so she decides to be legally separated from her parents. Dekker plays the older sister’s boyfriend and a cancer survivor. The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles. Patric was most recently in Paul Haggis’ Iraq war drama IN THE VALLEY OF ELAH and can next be seen in the indie dark drama DOWNLOADING NANCY.
