Movieweb has revealed that legendary musician Mike Patton will score the entire soundtrack to CRANK 2: HIGH VOLTAGE. Patton most recently contributed to the score to Ridley Scott’s BODY OF LIES and is probably best known for being the lead singer of the influential rock band Faith No More. This will be his first job scoring an entire film.
Is this good news? I don’t know, I’d be lying if I said this moved me. I’m only vaguely familiar with Patton and the last album I bought was by Q-Tip so I probably have no frame of reference whatsoever. Plus, you really shouldn’t be worrying about the music in a CRANK movie, trust me. You’re there for Statham breaking fools, and for Amy Smart’s tits. That’s it. They could use the ice-scream man song as a score and I know I wouldn’t even notice.
