Every episode of Peacemaker will have a post-credits scene

Although Marvel Studios certainly didn’t invent the post-credit scene, they’ve certainly helped to popularize them over the past decade. Plenty of movies outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have jumped aboard the post-credit scene train, as have some TV shows. The release of Peacemaker, a spinoff series revolving around John Cena’s character from The Suicide Squad, is just two weeks away and it turns out that every episode of the series will include a post-credit scene.

The Suicide Squad writer/director James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of Peacemaker himself and directed five. When asked by a fan on Twitter if Peacemaker will have a post-credit scene, Gunn said that all eight episodes will include one as a special thanks for watching the credits of their hardworking crew.

Given what we’ve seen of the Peacemaker series so far, I’d imagine that these post-credit scenes will probably be a lot of fun.

The Peacemaker series will find John Cena (F9) reprising his role as Peacemaker, and he’ll be joined by Danielle Brooks (Orange Is the New Black) as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma (Bridgerton) as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland (The Suicide Squad) as Harcourt, Steve Agee (The Suicide Squad) as Economos, Chukwudi Iwuji (John Wick: Chapter 2) as Murn, and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) as Auggie Smith. Cena has previously teased that he thinks that the Peacemaker series “actually turns up the volume on anything that you see in The Suicide Squad. I want people to enjoy The Suicide Squad and I really think they will. Once they get a feel for these characters they’re going to want more and that’s where Peacemaker picks up.” The eight-episode series will certainly be following in the R-rated footsteps of the feature film, as James Gunn has said that “it would be forty seconds long” if they edited it for broadcast TV.

Peacemaker (and its post-credits scenes) will debut on HBO Max on January 13, 2022.
