Pitt plays Ball

JoBloJoBlo

On the same day that we get word Brad Pitt and director George Miller (MAD MAX) are teaming for a sci-fi version of THE ODYSSEY comes word that Pitt is eyeballing another literary adaptation. Pitt is attached to MONEYBALL, the true story of Oakland A’s manager Billy Beane who built a winning baseball team by using a sophisticated computer model to analyze and draft players. The film would be based on “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game,” a bestseller by Michael Lewis. Academy Award winner Steve Zaillian has signed on to adapt the film for Columbia and producer Michael De Luca. David Frankel (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, MARLEY & ME) is attached to direct the film. Pitt is currently in Europe filming Quentin Tarantino’s INGLORIOUS BASTERDS but has yet to decide on his follow-up project. He can be seen this December in THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON.
