Looks like the Pitt/Jolie household really loved THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND. While Angelina Jolie will head off to Europe this summer to film WANTED with SCOTLAND star James McAvoy, Pitt has signed on to star in STATE OF PLAY for SCOTLAND director Kevin Macdonald. (Not to be left out, Maddox will star with Forest Whitaker in GHOST DOG 2.) In the film, Pitt will play an investigative journalist who teams with a police detective to hunt down the killer of a congressman’s mistress. Michael Carnahan, brother of Joe (SMOKIN’ ACES) wrote the script based on a British miniseries and got Pitt interested in the project last year. The film is set to begin filming this November for Universal. Pitt just wrapped filming on THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON and has THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD due later this year.
