It’s not an easy task to remake what is universally proclaimed to be the worst movie of all time, but director John Johnson enjoys a challenge. And judging from this teaser trailer for PLAN 9, it may encourage you to know that there are a handful of moments that actually look well, good. Let me know if that car scene didn’t make you jump just a little.

If you had to compare it to something, the obvious choice would be Zack Snyder’s DAWN OF THE DEAD remake, with an added hint of hovering meteorite and throwbacks to Ed Wood’s original. The movie doesn’t actually start officially filming until 2010, and lord only knows if it’ll actually make it to a theater near you (or a theater period for that matter), but I’m actually kind of hoping it does.
