Even though we've been keeping a very close eye on FX's "American Horror Story: Coven", we never really knew what the upcoming season had in store. Well folks, that has all changed because the plot details for the third season of "American Horror Story" have finally been released and it sounds like we'll be seeing some nasty witches on display thanks to Jessica Lange. I love the initial set-up for the series, here's how it breaks down:

Over 300 years have passed since the turbulent days of the Salem witch trials and those who managed to escape are now facing extinction. Mysterious attacks have been escalating against their kind and young girls are being sent away to a special school in New Orleans to learn how to protect themselves. Wrapped up in the turmoil is new arrival, Zoe (Taissa Farmiga), who is harboring a terrifying secret of her own. Alarmed by the recent aggression, Fiona (Jessica Lange), the long-absent Supreme, sweeps back into town, determined to protect the Coven and hell-bent on decimating anyone who gets in her way.

"American Horror Story: Coven" will premiere on Wednesday, October 9th at 10pm and stars Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Gabourey Sidibe, Patti LuPone, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, Alexandra Breckenridge, and Jamie Brewer.
