    POLTERGEIST's dreaded clown

The almost-inevitable remake to the early-80s fright classic POLTERGEIST was indeed announced two years ago, with a director and writers drafted a year later, but not a peep’s been heard from it since then, prompting die hard fans to feel/think/hope-to-high-friggin-heavens it had simply died an agonizing and definitive death. Sadly, such isn’t the case…

According to the folks of ShockTillYouDrop, MGM re-confirmed the film by settling on a release date: November 24th 2010, AKA Thanksgiving weekend. A full three weeks AFTER Halloween. Curious strategy, but hey – a weekend that works for TWILIGHT works for undesired remakes too, right?

The revamp to Tobe Hooper’s 1982 haunted house flick comes from third-time director Vadim Perelman, working on a script by BOOGEYMAN writers Juliet Snowden and Stiles White. Money well spent.
