I believe this is the first time we’ve heard about Faye Jackson’s STRIGOI (THE UNDEAD), an English horror-comedy shot under a modest budget back in late 2008. Since wrapping, the flick has made its rounds on the international festival circuit, even making its U.S. debut last October at the Eerie Horror Film Fest (as well as the Austin Film Fest). As the flick scrounges for distribution, a decent little trailer has been thrown together for our amusement. Take a look below!
Shot on location in Romania, STRIGOI (THE UNDEAD) gets going when:
Vlad (Catalin Paraschiv) investigates a mysterious death in his grandfather’s village that raises questions about land ownership in the community. The trail points to ex-communist bully Constantin Tirescu and his wife, but when Vlad confronts them, he discovers that the richest landowners in the village have become real bloodsuckers.
While most horror comedies these days go heavy on the lampooning, here’s a horrific scenario met with humor as dark as the killing itself. Seriously, get a load of what the old lady says at the very end of the trailer!
Constantin Barbulescu, Camelia Maxim, Dan Popa and Rudi Rosenfeld also star in the film.

Faye Jackson worked in the art department on a flick called THE CORPORATE LADDER, starring Talisa Soto (above)!
