Here’s a different type of horror/thriller if I’ve ever heard one.

Imagine if, as a helpless young kid in a small new town, you were forced by town officials to partake in a secret fight club. Pretty unnerving shite, wouldn’t ya say? Well, such a topic is front and center in Robert Monticello’s new thriller YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN VIOLENT. Peep the official synopsis, one-sheet and trailer for this sucker below!

From Monticello’s own mind, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN VIOLENT follows:

Seventh-grader, Zack, in trouble for fighting, moves far away, and looks forward to starting over. But reaching his new home in Danville, he finds a new lifestyle which may prove to be more violent and brutal than the one he’s left behind. Zack is conned into a secretive fight club – one that’s part of a larger conspiracy of profit and sick entertainment controlled by the town’s corrupt authorities – the mayor, the school principal, and the police – one of whom is dating Zack’s mom. The fight conspiracy leads to friends pitted against friends. Will Zack and his friends break the chain of violence and do the right thing?

Sure it shamelessly rips from Fincher’s masterwork, but I kinda like the setup on this one. What do ya think?

Mark Munford and Casey Skinner star in the film, which comes from Quantum Releasing.
