Pour yourself a glass in the trailer for Amy Poehler’s Wine Country

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Several years ago, Amy Poehler organized a 50th birthday Napa getaway for Rachel Dratch, and the experience inspired her to create WINE COUNTRY, a Netflix film which includes many of the very same people who took part in the real-life trip. Starring Amy Poehler (who also directs), Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Maya Rudolph, Paula Pell, Emily Spivey, Cherry Jones, Maya Erskine, Jason Schwartzman, and Tina Fey, WINE COUNTRY finds the group of longtime friends on a scenic wine tour in Napa, but as the alcohol flows, real world uncertainties intrude on the punchlines and gossip, and the women begin questioning their friendships and futures. The film also serves as quite the Saturday Night Live reunion.

The official synopsis for WINE COUNTRY:

In honor of Rebecca (Rachel Dratch)'s 50th birthday, Abby (Amy Poehler) plans a scenic Napa getaway with their best, longtime friends. Workaholic Catherine (Ana Gasteyer), post-op Val (Paula Pell), homebody Jenny (Emily Spivey), and weary mom Naomi (Maya Rudolph) are equally sold on the chance to relax and reconnect. Yet as the alcohol flows, real world uncertainties intrude on the punchlines and gossip, and the women begin questioning their friendships and futures. A hilarious and heartfelt comedy directed by Poehler, Wine Country co-stars Tina Fey, Jason Schwartzman and Cherry Jones.

WINE COUNTRY will hit Netflix on May 10, 2019, but will also debut in select theaters on May 8, 2019.
