Jesus tapdancin’ Christ, is DARK SHADOWS ever really going to get underway? Seems like we’ve been ball-teased by this movie for years. (In fact we have; our first article about it was in July of 2007!) A few weeks ago Jared brought the news that filming was scheduled to begin in February… Now we find that the production has been delayed yet again…
Not a huge deal though, at least not on the surface. Deadline.com reports that filming on DARK SHADOWS will commence in April, with Tim Burton at the helm and a screenplay written by Seth Grahame-Smith – author of “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” and “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter”.
DARK SHADOWS centers on the 175-year-old vampire Barnabas Collins, sealed in his coffin by his father in 1795 and inadvertently unleashed in the present where he must adjust to an entirely new world while passing himself off to relatives in Collinwood, Maine as a cousin from England.
Obviously, no release date has yet been set, but if the production month holds then we can probably expect it sometime in late 2012.
