More clips headed your way, these from the upcoming PROM NIGHT remake, which hits theaters on April 11. Directed by Nelson McCormick, it stars Brittany Snow, Johnathon Schaech, Jessica Stroup, and my man Idris Elba (from t.v.’s greatest show, THE WIRE).
The first clip, “In the Mirror,” uses what HAS to be the oldest trick in the cheap-scare book. The second, “Under the Bed,” features a chick hiding under a bed while the killer prowls around. The third is called “The Price of Bad Judgment,” and it utilizes the time-tested “false scare.”
What’s obvious is that this movie is pulling out all the stops in order to resemble your standard 80s stalk-and-slash, which can be seen as a good thing (it’s a no frills homage to some of our beloved horror flicks from the past) or a bad thing (it doesn’t have an original thought in it’s head). You be the judge!
