John Travolta reaches a new career checkpoint. He makes his directorial debut with a film he wrote, which is based on a book he also wrote. Both of which sport the name Propeller One-Way Night Coach, which doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. However, Apple TV has just unveiled the classy throwback trailer to an innocent time, when riding an airplane was a magical experience and a young boy partakes in TWA’s longest flight. Apple TV has also released the poster to Travolta’s film in addition to the trailer, which you can take a gander at below.
Propeller One-Way Night Coach is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, then will stream globally on Apple TV on Friday, May 29.
The official description reads,
“Set in the golden age of aviation, a young airplane enthusiast Jeff (played by newcomer Clark Shotwell) and his mother (Kelly Eviston-Quinnett) set off on a one-way cross country odyssey to Hollywood, which transforms a simple flight into the trip of a lifetime. Between airline meals, charming flight attendants (played by Ella Bleu Travolta and Olga Hoffmann), unexpected stopovers, larger-than-life passengers, and a thrilling glimpse at first class, the journey unfolds in moments both magical and unexpected, charting the course for the boy’s future. A film for all ages, Propeller One-Way Night Coach will premiere globally on Apple TV Friday, May 29, 2026, following its world premiere at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.”
Propeller One-Way Night Coach is an Apple Original and is a production of John Travolta’s JTP Films Inc, and Kids At Play. The film is produced by John Travolta of JTP Productions, in addition to Jason Berger and Amy Laslett of Kids at Play.
There have been rumblings that a sequel to the 90s favorite Face/Off may actually come into fruition. However, recently, Paramount Pictures is seeking another director to helm the planned sequel after losing filmmaker Adam Wingard. The director of The Blair Witch and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire left the project last summer, with both Wingard and Paramount mutually parting ways. Face/Off 2 now has an “open status” at the studio, with other filmmakers able to pitch their ideas for a follow-up to John Woo’s over-the-top action film starring Nicolas Cage and John Travolta.
