When I was a kid, I used to collect GOOSEBUMPS books. I didn't really read them – I just liked collecting them (I think I really liked the covers, and they were relatively cheap). They were also all written by prolific YA author R.L. Stine, and when I was a little older I found out he had a more "mature" horror series, called FEAR STREET. While I think I read a few, I don't remember them all that well (except one that described a guys head chopped off). Apparently, according to The Hollywood Reporter:
The stories in the books were set in the fictional town of Shadyside, Ohio, spanned different times periods in the 1980s and 1990s and featured new sets of characters, although some occasionally made appearances in other books, giving them a kind of universe dimension.

Now it seems, also according to THR, that there's a new film series on the way. Which makes sense, as the GOOSEBUMPS film with Jack Black was surprisingly good and well-received. However, what's interesting, is the studio 20th Century Fox is shooting three films back-to-back-to-back and releasing them a month apart in theaters in a "binge" format. Apparently they're very excited about it. Not only that, but in the same report they state that "Leigh Janiak, the rising horror director behind the indie hit Honeymoon, has closed a deal to rewrite and helm Fear Street. But, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter, the deal calls for her to write or rewrite three different scripts". Huh.
So what do you guys think about "binging" theatrical movies? Yay or nay?
