Raimi wants Hillary Swank for Oz: The Great & Powerful, Disney Michelle Williams?

Two-time Oscar winner vs. two-time Oscar nominee. Who do you think should get the job?!?

Vulture is reporting that one of our favorite filmmakers, Sam Raimi, is at odds with Disney over the casting of OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL. Word is Raimi wants Hillary Swank (seen right) to play one of the elder witches in the film, but the studio is apparently keen on Michelle Williams (seen below) playing the part. Wonder who’ll budge first…

Of course, large casting debates are nothing new for Raimi, who famously went to bat for Tobey Maguire over the studio’s insistence on Wes Bentley to play Peter Parker in SPIDER MAN. I don’t need to tell you that Raimi eventually got his way.

With James Franco and Mila Kunis attached to star in OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, the film tells the story of a circus wrangler who is transported via tornado to the mysterious land of Oz, where he is mistaken for an all-knowing Wizard.

Awards bullshite aside, who should be cast as Theodora’s (Kunis) older sister…Hilary or Michelle?

OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL comes out in 2013.
