If you've been looking forward to checking out writer/director Harrison Smith's film DEATH HOUSE, which functions as a horror version of THE EXPENDABLES due to the number of genre icons packed into its cast (which includes Kane Hodder, Michael Berryman, Barbara Crampton, Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, Tony Todd, Dee Wallace, Felissa Rose, Vernon Wells, R.A. Mihailoff, Camille Keaton, Danny Trejo, Lloyd Kaufman, Adrienne Barbeau, Cody Longo, and Cortney Palm), you have a little while longer to wait.
It had been announced that DEATH HOUSE would be receiving a theatrical release through Regal Cinemas on January 26th, but that plan has now changed. Our pals over at Bloody-Disgusting have learned that DEATH HOUSE's release date has been pushed back to February 23rd. That's only an extra four weeks of waiting, not too bad.
Based on an idea from TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE's original Leatherface Gunnar Hansen, DEATH HOUSE tells the following story:
Two federal agents fight their way through nine levels of Hell inside a secret prison known as the Death House. A facility-wide prison break turns their flight into a tour of horrors as they push toward the ultimate evil housed in the lowest depths of the earth.
With that cast and the fact that the story was concocted by Gunnar Hansen, there's no way I'm going to miss this.
Hannover House, Medallion Releasing, and Entertainment Factory are collaborating on the theatrical release. DEATH HOUSE will be playing on 100 screens in "top USA markets".
