Bubbly, pale-faced former cowboy lover Renee Zellweger is thisclose to toplining the comedy MY ONE AND ONLY. Based on a childhood adventure George Hamilton related to Merv Griffin way back in the day, Zellweger stars as a woman who drives down the Eastern seaboard on the hunt for a wealthy gentlemen who’ll provide a nice and cozy life for her and her sons. Richard Loncraine will direct from a script by Charlie Peters. Considering the strike is over (whoopee!!), this flick probably won’t have a difficult time going into production. Well, it’ll have the usual hurdles of any studio production but it’ll at least have a writer. And quite possibly Zellweger. Zelly-poo can next be seen alongside George Clooney in the Football comedy LEATHERHEADS.
