Rick Moranis retired from acting back in 1997 after the untimely loss of his wife to cancer. Moranis has since been a single parent and enjoyed doing voicework for some animated films but mainly staying out of the limelight. In a very rare interview with Empire, Moranis was asked about the still in development GHOSTBUSTERS 3. The man who played the bumbling accountant/lawyer friend to the Ghostbusters, Louis Tully, gave a very surprising answer to whether he would come back for the second sequel.
"I haven't talked to Danny (Aykroyd) about it," he says. "Somebody he's associated with called me and I said, 'I wouldn't not do it, but it's got to be good.' You know, I'm not interested in doing anything I've already done, and I thought the second one was a disappointment."

If Bill Murray truly won't be in GHOSTBUSTERS 3, it is vital to bring back as many of the original cast as possible to make it feel like a true sequel instead of a makeshift way to reboot the franchise. That means I want Annie Potts, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and even William Atherton! Bring them all back and forget about Murray. Well, okay, don't forget about Murray, but you know what I mean. If Dan Akyroyd is intent on GHOSTBUSTERS 3 happening, I want it to be the best damn GHOSTBUSTERS movie possible.
Just last month, Akyroyd told Larry King that the newest script for GHOSTBUSTERS 3 was chugging along, but that is the same thing we have been hearing for years. Hopefully this time it is true and I can pull my old toy proton pack out of mothballs and enjoy some great horror-comedy action!
