RIP: Peter Boyle

JoBloJoBlo

Death notices are always difficult to write (for me anyway) so I’ll keep this short and, hopefully, sweet. Actor Peter Boyle died yesterday in New York at the age of 71. Modern audiences likely know him from his successful stint on “Everybody Loves Raymond” (where he was nominated for five Emmy awards) but Boyle made his most memorable impression in Mel Brooks’ YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN. He helped put “SUUUPA DUPA!” in the vernacular of my group of friends. May he be puttin’ on the ritz in heaven. For more on Mr. Boyle and his career, I urge you to check out his obituary in the New York Times here. Then head to YouTube to watch the infamous YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN clip. Still hilarious.
