Guy Ritchie is back. Unfortunately he’s been gone for so long no one really cares. Ritchie has signed with Joel Silver’s Dark Castle to direct ROCKNROLLA from his own script. Yes, the movie is called ROCKNROLLA. No, it is not a comedy. The film is supposed to harken back to Ritchie’s early films LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS and SNATCH that put him on the map. The movie follows mobsters, petty thieves, hot chicks, money, guns and double-crosses. Of course I’d be more inclined to get pumped for this if a) we didn’t go through the whole “Guy Ritchie comeback” thing with REVOLVER, which was awful, and b) it wasn’t produced by Dark Castle, which hasn’t made a good movie….ever. Filming on ROCKNROLLA (God that’s an awful title) is set to begin in London in June.
