I gotta admit, I’m quite partial to the piercing horror coming from the land down under. Whether it’s austere Aussie outings like WOLF CREEK or the over the top Kiwi dread of something like DEAD ALIVE, I’m a true fan. And that’s why I’m freakin’ amped to lend you all a dose of Dean Francis’ outback automotive terror flick ROAD TRAIN.
And you should be pumped too. Why? Because the flick is a supernatural thriller about a group of teenagers menaced by a driver-less train in the Australian outback. C’mon. A flick that fuses the best of DUEL, MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE, JOYRIDE, MAD MAX, with a bit of the aforementioned WOLF CREEK – not to mention the unabashed B-movie title of ROAD TRAIN – how can you not be salivating to hike this title atop your damn rental queue? I know I am.
From initial feature script from Clive Hopkins (HOLIDAY ROMANCE), ROAD TRAIN tells a lean tale with a minimal cast of Xavier Samuel, Sophie Lowe, Bob Morley, and Georgina Haig.
No word yet on when the ROAD TRAIN looks to shred asphalt.
