Robert Patrick lands a role on podcast-inspired series Lore

It's been eleven months since it was first announced that Aaron Mahnke's horror podcast Lore would be serving as the basis of an hour-long anthology television series. So much time has gone by since that announcement, Mahnke took to the show's Twitter account yesterday morning to assure followers that the show is still happening.

Just a few hours after Mahnke sent out that tweet, there came a very good update about the show's status: it has locked down its first cast member, and it's a great cast member to have.

Robert Patrick has signed on for "a meaty part" on the show and will be filming said part later this spring while on hiatus from the CBS series Scorpion.

Lore will be a reunion for Patrick and his TERMINATOR 2 producer Gale Anne Hurd, who is executive producing the series. Glen Morgan is its showrunner.

Based on the popular podcast of the same name, which has over 3.2 million monthly listens, the unscripted horror anthology series will present tales dealing with frightening, psychologically disturbing, and often paranormal true events that have spawned modern-day nightmares.

Morgan's previous genre credits include The X-Files, FINAL DESTINATION, FINAL DESTINATION 3, the remakes of WILLARD and BLACK CHRISTMAS, and an acting role in the '80s classic TRICK OR TREAT.

The Lore series is set up at Amazon and ten episodes are being planned for the first season. The show is expected to premiere in either late 2017 or early 2018.
