It may have taken several years, but audiences will finally be getting an adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark tower come next February. If you've followed the news over the years, you'd know that plans have been pretty ambitious for the series, including talk of multiple films and even a TV show to compliment the movies. As of now, only the initial film is a sure thing, but if Ron Howard has his way, that TV series may be coming after all! Mr. Howard had as much to say when speaking with Deadline, as you can see below.

Ron Howard on a Dark Tower TV series:

We're developing the television part, now. We don't know what platform it will be on at this point, but we're developing the content in hopes for more movies that will cover the epic and the characters involved.

I'm not familiar with Stephen King's epic, but everyone who is has described it to me as exactly that; epic. We haven't really had a TV series that really strengthens its movie counterpart, but I'd love for THE DARK TOWER to take on a life of its own and deliver a story that spans across several visual mediums. Here's hoping the film delivers something great, something different and something that audiences didn't know they wanted!

THE DARK TOWER will open in theaters on February 17, 2017.
