Mark Ruffalo has signed on to round out the cast of Rian Johnson’s upcoming heist flick THE BROTHERS BLOOM. Ruffalo joins Adrien Brody, Rachel Weisz and Oscar nominee Rinko Kikuchi (BABEL). The film will star Brody and Ruffalo as the titular brothers who are scheming to rip-off a wealthy woman (Weisz), but as you might expect, things don’t go according to play. Kikuchi plays a deaf Japanese woman working with the Blooms. Filming begins next month on BLOOM, which will be fully financed by Endgame Entertainment (PROOF, HOTEL RWANDA) with a US distributor coming after filming wraps. BLOOM could be a great heist flick but that got me thinking, what is the best heist flick? RESERVOIR DOGS? HEAT? DOG DAY AFTERNOON? Feel free to weigh in with your thoughts below. Ruffalo can be seen next month in David Fincher’s serial killer study ZODIAC and later this year in Spike Jonze’s WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE.
