Rumor: Could Daniel Radcliffe be Moon Knight?

For better or for worse actor Daniel Radcliffe will forever be associated with the HARRY POTTER franchise. That doesn't mean that Radcliffe is merely some one note actor who can only play magical wizards. Films such as IMPERIUM and SWISS ARMY MAN demonstrate the man has serious acting chops. However, if this next rumor is to be believed Radcliffe may soon be returning to the world of the fantastical.

Numerous unconfirmed reports are starting to trickle online that Daniel Radcliffe is the front-runner for the role of Moon Knight in the upcoming Disney+ series of the same name. Moon Knight is set to debut at the same with a bevy of other Phase IV television shows including She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel. Producer Kevin Feige has also gone on record that these characters will subsequently appear in the MCU at some point.

As to the nature of the show itself very little is known right now. Moon Knight has a variety of origin stories in the comics. The most notable is Marc Spector, a Jewish American rabbi's son who becomes a boxer and then a Marine. While performing mercenary work abroad, he runs afoul of Khonshu, the Egyptian God of the Moon. In exchange for his life, Spector agrees to become Khonshu's avatar on Earth. If that's the backstory Marvel decides to go with, Radcliffe's going to have to go a long way to prove he can pull this off. When I think of Daniel Radcliffe I don't automatically think bad-ass boxing mercenary. However, I guess if Kumail Nanjiani can become a jacked superhero anything is possible.

Now it's important to note that this bit of casting news is only a rumor right now. As such I would take this information with a grain of salt the size of a pyramid. Moon Knight, along with several of the aforementioned Disney+ shows are in very early stages of development. Directors, scripts, and other various pre-production items are still being finalized. However, it's always fun to speculate.
